Since I was old enough to remember, my grandmother, “Blondie” as they call her, has been knitting and crocheting. In her earlier days she made these doilies, and they’ve now become a symbol of her spirit to me. So, I gathered a bunch of them up and made these pieces by pressing the delicate lace patterns into the clay. These small dishes are still used today, but I gave most of the pieces away to family members in honor of Blondie, who is still alive today at age 95. She was also a painter and ceramicist.
