This assignment, entitled Allegory and Illustration, illustrates an allegory through a series of photographs. After consulting the work of Yale graduate Anna Gaskell, her work on Alice in Wonderland in Wonder and Override, and the Brothers Grimm in Hide, I chose an allegory that had to follow any form including a novel, a short story, a poem, a fairytale, a historical telling. It could be fictive or factual information, as long as we maintained a running theme through all of the photographs.
Choosing something with fairy tale quality, this photograph is based on a twisted story between Cinderella's glass slipper and Dorothy's ruby red slippers.
