Gina Andracchio - Photography - The Study of Corrie Witt

For an Artist As Your Mentor assignment, I picked an artist I was interested in, replicating her images as closely as possible, and created images of my own utilizing her style. It allowed me the opportunity to expand and inform my style, technique, and conceptual approach to image making.

Since Corrie Witt focuses her studies on photographing dollhouses that she builds by hand, I went to the University of Iowa Hopsital and took pictures of the dollhouses they have on display. I like these photos because they blur the lines of what reality is and what is fake - in this case a doll's world.

Look closely at the images to see if you can tell whether they were taken from a doll house or real life. All the photos I took for this assignment are on the top of the page, while Corrie's are displayed at the bottom.
